A Word from Our Director
The Carle Foundation Hospital Clinical Pastoral Education Program, presents the opportunity for seminarians, clergy, and laity to train in both rural and suburban environments with the freedom to explore specific areas of interest and set goals appropriate for personal and professional growth. The multispecialty nature of the clinic brings together an unusually deep and broad mix of specialists to the area's only Level One Trauma Center. Four staff chaplains also enhance the student's learning environment. The University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign presents the cultural backdrop to a Midwestern university town with a vibrant and growing economy. Opportunities for education, entertainment, and leisure are available in abundance for the Chaplain Intern and his/her family. The Clinical Pastoral Education program at Carle Foundation Hospital is positioned to meet the needs of the clergy person entering a career in the ministry both in healthcare or the parish. We stand ready to answer any and all questions and look forward to hear from you. Sincerely, James W. Winjum, M.Div., M.A., B.C.C.
