Nursing Research

Research Office

Updated January 16, 2012

Welcome to the Nursing Research site.

Exemplary nursing research studies have been conducted at CFH including many studies currently in progress.  The Research Office is pleased to help with research in the nursing arena.

When research-based knowledge (information derived from well-designed research studies) and clinical-based knowledge (protocols and standards) come together the result is evidence-based practice.  Evidence-based practice is essential for patient care.

When nurses ask the question, “Could this be done in a more efficient manner?”  or “Would my idea help make this even safer?” or state “There has to be a better way to do this,” Research Office is available to help.  Our goal is to help formulate your thoughts into an opportunity to learn more with an accurate clinical question.  We can then help with the development of the best way to answer that question including a designed study.  The ultimate goal is to better meet the needs of our patients and that is always at the forefront.

During your very busy day if you think of something that you believe could be done to improve patient care, do not hesitate to contact us at the Research Office.  Or after reading an already published research article you find it has an influence on your nursing practice and you believe it could benefit CFH let us know.  Our coordinators will be happy to ‘walk you through’ the process.

If you are an experienced researcher, we are also happy to provide support. The Research Office is available to facilitate nursing research projects with an already formulated hypothesis or question.

Information regarding external presentations can be found on the resident poster/oral/single case study presentations page.

The Evidence Based Practice Program for 2012 will be starting on January 12, 2012.

As Nursing Research Coordinator I look forward to working with you.
