Requesting Resources from the Foundation Research Office
FRO is available
to help residents, fellows and faculty facilitate their research and
scholarly activity projects. All faculty and residents requesting resources
from FRO are required to complete the Faculty and Resident Request for
Resources form (complete the form before beginning the IRB process). Below
is a list of resources that might be requested from FRO coupled with a brief
description of what FRO can provide:

Study
Protocol
– While FRO cannot write the protocol, the office can assist with
revising and editing a written protocol.

Surveys/tools
– FRO can assist with editing surveys, letters and other tools.

Translation
– FRO can arrange translation of documents into different languages by a
certified translator (languages include Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese,
Korean and Russian).

Data:

Entry – when justified on an individual basis

Statistical analysis - FRO can arrange consultation for assistance with setting up the sample size, power analysis, and post study analysis

Provide computer access to enter/analyze data
Literature
review
– FRO can arrange library assistance and assist with editing/revising
literature reviews
Arrange permission for clinic/hospital chart access
Submit IT
requests for reports
Identifying
publication/presentation opportunities
– FRO can assist with editing and revising presentations. Once a faculty
or resident identifies a journal publication opportunity, FRO can assist
with formatting and submitting manuscripts.
Identifying future funding sources
Posters
– FRO can assist with editing, revising, and coordinating printing of
posters.
Oral
Presentation –
FRO can
assist with editing and revising of power point presentations.
FRO may be able
to assist in more areas than those listed above if there is a justification
included.
