Nancy recently

where she served as the IRB Director and developed an embryonic stem cell
research oversight committee. Before UIC, Hathaway directed an IRB of
international scope which focused on the development of health care
technologies for resource-poor countries. She brings IRB experience from
academic, commercial, and international research environments. In addition
to being a Certified IRB Professional, Hathaway is a licensed attorney.
Carla Barnwell, IRB

Carla has been
teaching and writing in the biological sciences since 1988. Prior to that
she worked as a Certified Public Accountant focused on compliance. Carla has
also worked for the University of Illinois IRB and became a Certified IRB
Professional in 2003. Outside of work, Carla enjoys cycling and gardening.
Barbara Zachow,

Barbara began her
work with the Carle Institutional Review Board in 1990 – supporting both the
IRB and Dr. Ralph A. Nelson’s denning bear research. She received her IRB
Professional certification (CIP) in 2000. While away from Carle Barbara
directs choral concerts at Parkland, a children’s choir, and sings with
Baroque Artists of Champaign-Urbana.
