Periodic surveys to researchers will be sent out to assess tissue banking needs of the research community.

The decision to start collecting certain types of specimens and not others will be driven by several factors:

§         Likelihood of specimen being used for research in the future;

§         Existing external funding that will support tissue banking;

§         Priorities of Carle Foundation Research;

§         Availability of a sub-specialist to support banking efforts.

After the surveys are completed and results compiled, a decision will be made on which types of materials to collect.

The Carle Tissue Repository will be in part funded by Carle Foundation and therefore, projects not directly run by a Carle Investigator will only be accommodated if tissue and personnel resources permit.
