Types of Materials to be Collected Carle Tissue Repository Updated June 2010
Periodic surveys to researchers will be sent out to assess tissue banking needs of the research community. The decision to start collecting certain types of specimens and not others will be driven by several factors: § Likelihood of specimen being used for research in the future; § Existing external funding that will support tissue banking; § Priorities of Carle Foundation Research; § Availability of a sub-specialist to support banking efforts. After the surveys are completed and results compiled, a decision will be made on which types of materials to collect. The Carle Tissue Repository will be in part funded by Carle Foundation and therefore, projects not directly run by a Carle Investigator will only be accommodated if tissue and personnel resources permit. |

Carle Foundation Hospital, Carle Foundation Physician Services and Carle Physician Group contract with insurance providers separately and may or may not choose to participate in all of the same insurance plans. Patients are urged to check with their carriers as to whether services are covered for either or both organizations.
